ACNE ROSACEA

Treatment for acne rosacea

A comprehensive, individualized, anonymous approach to treatment.

Acne rosacea is a chronic disease of the sebaceous glands, in the pathogenesis of
which an important place is occupied by angiopathies, various neuroendocrinal
pathologies and chronic diseases of the digestive tract. Of the women who visit a
dermatologist and dermotocosmetologist, in the age group from 30 to 50 years, about
5% of cases are diagnosed with acne rosacea of various forms and severity.

The diagnosis is made by a dermatologist based on a visual examination. Also an important diagnostic character is the absence of comedones and black spots on the face.

Additional tests are assigned for differentiated diagnosis; inoculation and bacteriological examination of the contents of pustules can exclude staphylococcal infection and other pyoderma.

Treatment
A diet is prescribed with excluding of alcohol, hot drinks, and spices.

The first stages of acne rosacea are unnoticed, since cosmetic defects are easily masked by decorative cosmetics, but treatment at this stage is most effective. Drugs that strengthen the vascular wall are prescribed, sedative therapy with herbal drugs can reduce the nervous excitability of patients and reduce the release of adrenaline into the blood, thus the vascular network does not expand and the symptoms of rosacea subside. Taking group B, A, C vitamins and subcutaneous injections of nicotinic acid also strengthen the walls of blood vessels and stabilize the autonomic nervous system.

Treatment should be comprehensive.

If it is possible, eliminate the impact of all factors that provoke exacerbation of rosacea, cancel the external use of corticosteroids (if they were used).

The second and third stages of rosacea require topical application of gels with an antibiotic and metronidazole, they have an anti-inflammatory effect and cool the skin affected by rosacea. Cryomassage is well recommended too.

Full recovery from rosacea is impossible to achieve, but with timely multiple therapy, almost all patients can achieve long-lasting remission.

Prevention and supportive treatment
Refusal of alcohol and hot drinks: exacerbation of the disease is not caused by the caffeine contained in tea and coffee, but by the high temperature of the drink.

Emotional overload should be avoided.

For washing the face, it is necessary to exclude the use of alkaline detergents (soap) that reduce the barrier function of the skin. The use of therapeutic cosmetics is indicated for its purification and preventive care.

For washing, you can also use cold herbal infusions (chamomile, sage).

In summer, you must constantly use sunblock.
