Dermatoscopic diagnosis of skin neoplasms

During the initial appointments the procedure of dermatoscopy is absolutely painless and harmless method of examination of various neoplasms on the skin (moles, warts, papillomas, angiomas, etc.), allowing to consider the skin structure under magnification and fluorescent lighting, giving the opportunity to improve the diagnosis of melanoma and other malignancies on the skin, in the early stages. Until other organs are not involved in the malignant process. Previously, this possibility was only for early surgical removal.

Dermatoscopy is a visual method that has been successfully used for more than 10 years in America, Europe and Australia. A doctor receives a tenfold increase of recearched neoplasm with the help of a special device – a dermatoscope. It makes possible for studying its structure more thoroughly. If the structure is inhomogeneous, asymmetric and has no clear boundaries, it usually indicates its unfavorable degeneration.

There are no contraindications for this method. It is recommended to conduct the study especially for people with fair skin, having more than 5 moles and the size of which exceeds 0.5 cm.

The modern equipment for examination is used in the consulting-room of dermatovenerology. After the dermatoscopy the doctor will give you recommendations for further observation or excision of the neoplasms.
