Treatment for candidiasis

It refers to infections that are caused by the Candida albicans fungus.

Clinical characteristics and course

* Candidiasis of oral cavity is more often in infants and the elderly (connected with dentures). Foci are located on the mucous membranes, tongue, corners of the mouth, there is a whitish accretion, there may be plaques, pitting erosion and is characterized by painfulness.

* Superficial candidiasis of the skin. Any part of the skin areas, especially in hot and wet weather, is moistened, which forwards the development of candidiasis. There are the first signs of the disease – hyperemia, exudation, which appear in the places of folds accompanied by itching and painfulness.

* Candidiasis balanitis or vulvovaginitis, sexual route of infection is possible, oral or
anal. In mild cases, redness appears on the head and small papules on the surface that appear after sexual intercourse. In more severe cases, the entire penis is affected with
painfulness.

* Vaginal candidiasis.

There are acute and chronic forms.

Predisposing factors are taking antibiotics, pregnancy, taking contraceptives, increasing sugar levels, nutritional error (eating a lot of farinaceous food and sweet). The disease is accompanied by the appearance of abundant white thick discharge, proteinaceous, severe itching and painfulness. 50% of men are carriers of the same type of Candida on the penis and in the mouth.

The accuracy of diagnosis and differential diagnosis of this disease is very important, since such diagnosis of candidiasis is typical for many other diseases: trichomaniasis, mycoplasmosis, chlamydia and others.

* Candida paronychia. This is a chronic disease, often found among people whose work is related to water, the nail fold becomes edematous, red, pus may appear, and is accompanied by pain.

* Candidiasis onychomycosis. It is distinguished by the turbidity of the nail plate, its color and shape change.
