Treatment of fungal diseases

Treatment of fungal diseases
Microsporia and trichophytia are currently the most important in children of the diseases caused by infectious microscopic fungi, in which the smooth skin of the body and the skin of the scalp are mainly affected. Superficial trichophytosis of the scalp is usually manifested by small rounded areas with thinned, broken off at different levels hair, often at a height of 2-3 mm, it usually looks like grayish. The skin in the lesions is barely noticeably inflamed and slightly peels off.
The diagnosis of the disease must finally be made by a doctor in order to prescribe appropriate general and (or) external treatment with antifungal drugs. If the scalp is affected, therapy should be carried out in a hospital, treatment of smooth skin can be in the outpatient setting, but under the supervision of a doctor, especially since, although rare, prenatal hairs can be affected, which is associated in some cases with relapses of the disease.
After treatment, repeated control tests are necessary to confirm the completeness of recovery and prevent repetitions (relapses) of the disease or its transition to a chronic form. Parents should pay attention to the fact that you cannot resort to the use of iodine or other strongly acting drugs without specifying the diagnosis, especially since rashes similar to fungal lesions occur in other diseases. In particular, sometimes the so-called pityriasis rosea is taken for a fungal disease, in which any irritating effect on the skin leads to prolongation and complication of the course of the disease.
