General information
Acne (acne) occurs when hair follicles on the skin become plugged due to secretions of sebaceous glands and dead skin cells. It usually appears on the face, back, chest and forearms. Acne can be inherent. Acne usually appears in adolescence in the form of small red bumps, sometimes big cysts and nodules. Usually, after the puberty, acne passes without treatment. Acne is more common in men than in women.
Acne can have the appearance of blackheads (black dots) (open comedones), which is an enlarged and clogged skin pores. Usually open comedones are black or grayish brown; it is explained by chemical changes in sebum in the pore. Sometimes blackheads can be removed by doctor or cosmetologist.
White dots (closed comedones, whiteheads) clogged pores with a very small hole.
They are difficult to remove without medical help.
Pustules are white or yellow bumps that appear when bacteria actively multiply inside the comedone, which causes inflammation and pus formation. Squeezing out the pustule can lead to increased inflammation and an increase in the size of the pimple. Cysts (cystic form of acne) are deep, painful, pus-filled cavities that often leave scars
